Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on March 21, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Establishment of Dedicated Help Line and E-Mail ID for Outreach to Exporters, Shipping Lines and MTOs regarding issues arising from the current situation in the Middle East.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Due to ongoing disruptions in the Middle East affecting maritime trade, authorities have set up a dedicated support system for exporters, shipping lines, and Multimodal Transport Operators (MTOs). 

• A single-point Help Line (022-25752019) and email ([email protected]) have been established to address issues like freight charges, delays, cargo disputes, and operational uncertainties. 

• The Help Desk will continuously monitor stakeholder concerns and maintain a centralized record of complaints and actions taken. 

• It will coordinate with relevant divisions, ministries, and agencies to ensure timely resolution and respond to queries received via helpline and email. 

• Daily summary reports of issues and actions will be submitted to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for monitoring, with approval.
